Iran Seizes Barbie Dolls and Bans Topless Actress [PHOTO/VIDEO]; Iran Fight Against Western Culture. Iran is enforcing a ban on Barbie dolls, shutting down dozens of toy shops in Iran as part of a rule made in 1996 by religious leaders and Actress Golshifteh Farahani admits that the government of Iran has banned her homecoming due to her decision to pose nude in France’s Madame Le Figaro magazine. First: Toy shops in Tehran have been raided and the Barbie dolls confiscated, thanks primarily to the new Tattoo Barbie, which sparked outrage not only in Iran, but upset parents from many countries. Second: 28-year-old actress Golshifteh Farahani “was told by a Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guide official that Iran does not need any actors or artists. You may offer your artistic services somewhere else,” Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper quoted Farahani as saying. Farahani,’ who lives in Paris, film credits include “Body of Lies” and “A Separation,” which is one of nine finalists this year for the Oscar for best foreign-language film.
